It’s important to note that this is the ‘perception’ of discrimination, not whether or not the discrimination actually took place. However, often people align their behaviour to what they expect others may do. Other studies have attempted to tease out how our expectations of others behaviour influences our own behaviour.

So in relation to the question then, does gender / sex impact hiring in Ireland, this data suggests the answer may be ‘yes’.
